Two Holidays, One Trip
Most people choose between a road trip and a waterway holiday. We think you should do both.
Everything starts and finishes at our base at Marsh Farm in Hilperton, just outside Trowbridge — so there's no complicated logistics. Spend time exploring the Kennet & Avon Canal aboard Upsy Daisy, then hand her back and pick up one of our motorhomes for a road trip across the UK or beyond.
Or do it the other way around — drive first, then slow right down and take to the water. Either way, Marsh Farm is your anchor point, and two very different adventures are waiting.

Example Itineraries
Every combination holiday is different — here are a few ideas to get you thinking.
Canal & Cotswolds
Upsy Daisy on the Kennet & Avon. Cruise to Bradford-on-Avon, explore the tithe barn and canal pubs, then push east to Devizes and the Caen Hill flight. Return to Marsh Farm.
Pick up a motorhome and head north into the Cotswolds — Bourton-on-the-Water, Burford, Chipping Campden. Camp at a Cotswold site and explore at your own pace before returning to Marsh Farm.
The Grand Tour
Take Beatrice (6 berth) for a full week — drive down to Cornwall via Dartmoor, explore the coast and the moors, then head back through Somerset and home to Marsh Farm.
Step straight onto Upsy Daisy and decompress on the canal. A week on the water after a week on the road is the perfect contrast — slow down, watch the wildlife, and let the pace of the canal do its thing.
Road Trip with a Canal Day
Pick up Carys or Farah and explore the South West — Jurassic Coast, New Forest, or wherever takes your fancy. Return to Marsh Farm on day 4 morning.
A day on Upsy Daisy — cruise west toward Bath, stop for lunch at a canalside pub, and drift back to Marsh Farm in the afternoon. Return the boat, then continue your road trip.
Back in the motorhome — head north to the Cotswolds or east into Hampshire and the Downs. Return to Marsh Farm on day 7.

Canal Boat + Motorhome
A proper extended adventure — spend 3 or more days on Upsy Daisy exploring the Kennet & Avon Canal, then hand her back at Marsh Farm and pick up a motorhome for a road trip. Two completely different paces of life, back to back.

Motorhome + A Day on the Water
Hire a motorhome for your main trip and add a day out on Upsy Daisy as part of the adventure. Drive to Marsh Farm, spend the day cruising the canal — head east toward Bradford-on-Avon or west toward Bath — then return the boat and continue your road trip.

Marsh Farm, Hilperton
Everything — motorhome collection, canal boat mooring, handover, return — happens at Marsh Farm, Marsh Road, Hilperton Marsh, just outside Trowbridge. You don't need to be in two places at once.
The farm also has an independent campsite — so if you're doing both hires on the same trip, you can book a pitch there and use it as your base between the two. Wake up, step off the boat, walk to the motorhome. Genuinely as simple as that.
From Marsh Farm the canal takes you east to Bradford-on-Avon, Devizes, and the famous Caen Hill lock flight — or west toward Bath, one of England's most beautiful cities. By road you're minutes from the A350 and within easy reach of the Cotswolds, Cornwall, Wales, and beyond.
