Upsy Daisy is a 35ft narrowboat moored on the Kennet & Avon Canal, just outside Trowbridge in Wiltshire. Whether you fancy a peaceful few days exploring the towpath villages, or you'd like to cruise towards the beautiful city of Bath, she's the perfect base for a waterway escape.
She's cosy, warm, and wonderfully manageable — ideal for those who've never set foot on a canal boat before, as well as those who know their way around the locks. The wood burning stove gives her a real home-from-home feel on cooler evenings, and the well-equipped galley kitchen means you can cook proper meals rather than living off sandwiches.
Popular dates fill up quickly, particularly in summer — so we'd recommend booking early to secure your preferred week. Special extras are available for a small additional fee to make your trip even more special.
Canal Boat Day Hire & Short Breaks
Looking for a day out on the water, or something a little shorter than a full week? Day hire and short break rates on Upsy Daisy are available on application.
Every day hire is assessed individually — we'll have a chat about what you'd like to do, where you'd like to go, and whether the timing works around existing bookings. It's a personal service, and we'll do our best to make it happen.
Day hires always start and end at our mooring at Marsh Farm, Hilperton Marsh, just outside Trowbridge. You can head east toward Bradford-on-Avon and Devizes, or west toward Bath — Juley will talk you through the best options for the time you have.
A welcome bundle can be added to make the day extra special — ideal for birthdays, anniversaries, or simply treating yourself.

The Kennet & Avon Canal
One of England's most beautiful waterways, the Kennet & Avon Canal runs through the heart of Wiltshire and connects to Bath and beyond.
From your mooring near Trowbridge you can head east to explore the charming market town of Bradford-on-Avon, with its ancient tithe barn, independent shops, and canal-side pubs. Go further and you'll reach the spectacular Caen Hill flight — 29 locks in a row, one of the Seven Wonders of the Waterways.
Head west and the canal winds through open countryside and small villages before reaching the city of Bath — a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of England's most beautiful cities. Moor up right in the heart of it and spend a day exploring the Roman Baths, Georgian architecture, and incredible food scene.
Or simply slow down and do nothing at all. Find a quiet mooring in the countryside, watch the wildlife, light the stove, and let the world drift by. That's what canal life is all about.
