How It All Started

An Airbnb on Wheels

Adventure Nomad began with a simple idea: what if your home could travel with you?

The business came about through a search for a rewarding investment — and a conversation with a friend that sparked everything. The concept was clear from the start: create an Airbnb on wheels, giving people a genuinely different way to take a holiday and make memories they'll never forget.

From that first conversation, Adventure Nomad has grown into a family-run hire business with a fleet of fully equipped motorhomes and a beautiful narrowboat on the Kennet & Avon Canal. Every vehicle is prepared with real care — stocked, cleaned and ready to feel like home from the moment the door opens.

Customers regularly come back saying they felt genuinely attached to their motorhome by the end of the trip — sad to hand the keys back. That connection is something we're quietly proud of.

Our Base

Marsh Farm, Trowbridge

Adventure Nomad is based at Marsh Farm in Hilperton Marsh, just outside Trowbridge in the heart of Wiltshire. The farm isn't just a place to work — it's a complete community with a real sense of belonging.

It also happens to be in one of the best possible positions in Wiltshire for getting on the road. Whether you're heading to the dramatic cliffs of Devon and Dorset, the rugged beauty of Cornwall, the Pembrokeshire coast of Wales, or simply exploring the lanes of the west country, you can be on your way in minutes.

Names with a Story

Every motorhome in the Adventure Nomad fleet carries a girl's travelling name — chosen to reflect the spirit of the open road.

Carys

A coach-built 2-berth motorhome. Carys means "love" in Welsh — perfect for a vehicle that takes its hirers to places they'll adore.

Upsy Daisy

Our 35ft narrowboat on the Kennet & Avon Canal. Named after the Night Garden character by the previous owners' children — the name stuck, and so did the charm.

The Waterway

The Kennet & Avon Canal

The Kennet & Avon is one of England's most beautiful waterways — and Upsy Daisy is moored right on it, just outside Trowbridge.

The canal is picturesque from end to end, with a remarkable variety of wildlife, a string of fascinating places to visit along the way, and the full spectrum from the vibrant city of Bath to quiet, remote havens like the Seend Cleeve pub.

There are plenty of marinas, facilities and mooring spots, and the towns along the route offer festivals, markets and live music throughout the season. For those looking to combine a canal break with motorhome travel, there are also excellent, reasonably priced campsites along the canal's edge.
